OneLogin Desktop Is a Complete Replacement of On-Premise Active Directory and LDAP
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2016) - OneLogin, the identity management provider bringing speed and integrity to the modern enterprise, has announced OneLogin Desktop, a cloud-based replacement for on-premise Active Directory and LDAP directories. OneLogin will be showcasing the new solution at Booth 1033 during the RSA Conference 2016, running February 29 - March 3, at Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.
Companies that are born in the cloud, as well as enterprises that are moving to the cloud, increasingly find that having an on-premise directory grossly overcomplicates their IT infrastructure. Firewalls, VPNs, redundancy, security patching, add-ons and backups of the directory become a major headache in contrast to the ease-of-use they have gotten used to with cloud applications.
"OneLogin Desktop is the next step in our mission to provide speed and integrity to the modern enterprise," says Thomas Pedersen, Co-founder and CEO of OneLogin. "Our goal is to manage all identities and devices that touch corporate data and allow the organization to execute as fast as possible without compromising security."
OneLogin Desktop completely transforms how IT organizations think about users and devices. Instead of wasting resources on the directory infrastructure itself, they can focus their attention on tasks, such as managing users, app, devices and security policies. OneLogin Desktop also simplifies life for end users because it eliminates yet another password.
"Enterprises are increasingly adopting cloud-based applications, but many are wrestling with the challenges of integrating and managing both on-premise and cloud-based resources," said Garrett Bekker, Senior Analyst at 451 Research. "Allowing enterprises to focus on the benefits of an 'identity-centric' approach to security without worrying about the underlying technical infrastructure should be welcome by many IT professionals."
"I was thrilled when I found out OneLogin was building a Mac endpoint authentication product -- OneLogin Desktop," said Zach Boewer, Vice President of Information Technology, Scale Venture Partners. "The idea of having a unified directory in the cloud that services SaaS and endpoints is brilliant. Having a single unified directory will ease the burden on IT staff, simplify the user sign-on process and bolster security."
OneLogin Desktop is available for Mac OS X in March and for Windows in Q2. The list price is $4/user per month for unlimited devices. For more information on OneLogin Desktop, please visit here.
